2008 Event
Sun tan lotion was a must for 2008’s Prom Day! As the sun shone down on the packed two mile promenade, more than 60,000 people enjoyed the days fun filled event.
Headliner Liz McClarnon was a big hit. After performing a mix of her old and new tracks, Liz chatted with fans and signed autographs.
Visitors local and on holiday enjoyed helicopter rides, the giant funfair and exhibitor activities including a giant inflatable assault course and climbing wall hosted by the army.
There was fun for all the family including face painting, market and charity stalls and even street performances from giant bat like creatures!
As if that wasn’t enough there were many organisations present offering information and advice from the police and the fire brigade to HM Customs and Excise and the Food Standards Agency.
A day to suit all ages and tastes full of fun and even a little bit of education; one thing is for sure it was as ever a day to remember.
