Sand Artists at this years Prom Day!
The 2009 Bay of Colwyn Promenade Day is taking place on Bank Holiday Monday 4th May and with a low tide at 2pm the beach will be available all day for activities! This is the first time that the beach has been available all day to the event for 5 years and to celebrate this, a team of artists will be creating a giant 20metre tall sand drawing for all to see. Sand Drawings are huge two dimensional images that live for the time of the tide. They're done simply by raking the sand and the sun then creates the image through shadow. This will be another 1st for the event, which tries to provide free entertainment for the public year after year!
Other attractions already booked for this year include:
Prom Day annually attracts over 60,000 people to the area and although the majority are local many thousands travel from across the North-West of England and the Midlands to attend this marvellous event by the sea.
If you would like to take advantage of the crowds then there are still spaces available for businesses and charities who may wish to promote themselves at the event. For further information place use the ‘contact us’ section
