Bay of Colwyn Promenade Day – Bank Holiday Monday 5th May, 2008
The Bay of Colwyn Promenade Day stretches along nearly 2 miles of promenade between Rhos-on-Sea and Colwyn Bay. The event regularly attracts over 60,000 visitors and is held at the beginning of May in order to try and attract return tourism later on in the year.
Prom Day, as many prefer to call it, is a family spectacular which has something to offer everybody including helicopter pleasure rides, live music, a giant funfair, interactive displays, market stalls and much, much more!
Recently, event organisers have tried to encourage free entertainment and more ‘hands on’ displays for children at the event. Local businesses and charities are also encouraged to attend in order to boost their profiles with visitors and locals alike.
Sun tan lotion was a must for 2008’s Prom Day! As the sun shone down on the packed two mile promenade, more than 60,000 people enjoyed the days fun filled event.
